| A few months ago, Cynthia
Zordich decided to photograph some of her friends. These were not to be mere snapshots
of pals at vacation spots or weddings, smiling distractedly. Zordich wanted to
photograph the people inside the women she had known since girlhood. They sprawled
across beds or curled up on the floor, young and old alike, and exuded luxuriousness,
not because of how they looked, the clothes or makeup they were wearing, but because
they are women and Zordich wanted to photograph them just as they are. They revealed
pieces of their stories to Zordich's camera through the curves of their backs,
the fine lines by their eyes and their confident smiles. Her exhibit, Under My
Skin, is currently on display through October 31. All proceeds will benefit the
Pittsburgh Race for the Cure, One Oxford Center, Downtown. 412.395.3478.
